FoodIQ ("we," "us," "our") provides an AI nutrition coaching service delivered through WhatsApp. This policy explains what information we collect when you use FoodIQ, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly

When you set up FoodIQ, you tell us things like your weight, height, age, gender, and activity level, which we use to calculate your daily targets. You can update this at any time by messaging Maya (for example, sending /setting).

Meal and activity log data

Every time you log a meal — as a photo, a voice note, or a text description — we process and store it, along with the nutrition estimate generated from it (calories, macronutrients, micronutrients, and portion size). This builds your personal nutrition history, which powers your daily targets and weekly recap.

WhatsApp account information

Because FoodIQ operates entirely through WhatsApp, we receive basic identifiers needed to message you back, such as your phone number, via WhatsApp's Business Platform.

2. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Estimate the nutrition content of what you log
• Calculate and update your daily calorie and macronutrient targets
• Generate your Sunday recap, including trends and micronutrient gaps
• Respond to questions you ask Maya directly
• Maintain and improve the reliability of the service

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your meal logs, health data, or chat history with third parties for their marketing or advertising purposes.

We do share information with a limited number of service providers who help us operate FoodIQ — for example, cloud hosting and the AI processing providers used to analyze meals. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your information to provide services to us.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FoodIQ or our users.

4. Data retention

Your data is kept as long as your account is active — note that you can request full deletion at any time (see "Your rights" below).]

5. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep your data protected.

6. Your rights

You can:

• Update your profile details (weight, height, activity level) at any time (/setting)
• Delete your most recent meal entry (/undo)
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Request full deletion of your account and history

7. Children's privacy

FoodIQ is not directed at children and is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under this age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. International data transfers

FoodIQ is based in Singapore. Depending on the service providers we use, your information may be processed in other countries. Where this happens, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistently with this policy.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page, and where appropriate, let you know directly.
